RhinoBond® for Metal Roofs

RhinoBond is an alternative membrane attachment system for TPO and PVC membranes and the ideal option for metal retrofit applications. This Factory Mutual approved system secures the membrane to the purlins without penetrating the roofing material. The fasteners are installed into the purlins for maximum uplift resistance, yet they do not have to be placed in the seams of the membrane

Features & Benefits

  • Requires fewer fasteners and fewer seams when compared to other installation methods.
  • Membrane width and orientation is no longer an issue for thermoplastic membrane installations for an efficient installation.
  • Efficient application method can help save time and labor.
  • Requires fewer fasteners and fewer seams compared to traditional installation methods.
  • Eliminates the need for special width half sheets to fit the building's purlin spacing.
  • Allows use of full width membrane (10-ft.) installed parallel or perpendicular to eave.

The RhinoBond metal retrofit installation is a three-step process:

  1. Fill the flutes with loose laid insulation.
  2. Secure a cover board to the purlins with RhinoBond Plates for membrane attachment. Additional non-RhinoBond insulation fasteners may be required per FM guidelines.
  3. After the membrane is installed, weld each plate using the RhinoBond tool.
